This was one of the first treasures I found when I began teaching American Heritage over ten years ago and it still one of my most favorite books. There are two sets of books —one for adults and one for children with three books in each set. The Light and the Glory Series and The Light and the Glory Series for Children are both exceptional works of non-fiction literature. The providential hand of God in America is clearly apparent as you read the stories of the people founded America and here how they felt about their experiences in their own words. The books have the same stories, they are just more detailed in the adult set. Great read-alouds and the for teens and youth.
